The Sheng is a Chinese instrument invented a long time ago, and this young Chinese girl is playing the Super Mario Bros theme on it. The sweet thing about this video is that it is a single instrument playing this 8-bit Mario song. It is pretty awesome how well that this instrument sounds like the original Nintendo version, down to the sound effects.
The Sheng looks like a bunch of tubes like the organ of flutes that you play with your mouth and fingers. It is actually a bunch of bamboo flutes tied into one mouth piece. We can see that this old instrument was way ahead of its time, or that maybe the maker of the original song heard the sounds of the Sheng and stole it from someone, but that is neither here nor there.
If you read the comments there are some people nit picking at her Super Mario Bros performance, pointing out the differences such as tempo. However, she does so well mimicking the rest of the song and effects, people are just hating too hard.
