  2. #13, How do you add bags when you're currently using one as a trash bag?

#27. All of the dripping water from the tops (plates) would end up water spotting the bottom items (cups).

    1. Allen Allen allen... the trick is to stack the top layer first, so its done draining before you put stuff in the lower layer. Us poor people -who have little kitchen space have been doing for all our lives!

      Delete
    2. Allen, #13 - you fill it with a load of bags FIRST, then you use the top one. When that's done you take it out and you move onto the 2nd.

    3. Only problem is it uses disposable plastic bags and encourages that. We shouldn't be using them at all.

    4. re: #27 Awwww, water spots. poor dear.

  3. Sorry that some of us actually like these kinds of things. Who are you to judge what people do and don't buy? Just because you think they are shit doesnt mean everyone does. Not everyone is consumption obsessed.

  4. You must be a lot of fun at parties.

  5. Haha, he points out how useless and redundant most of this stuff is and you get offended because you really wanted that bicycle shaped pizza cutter. You know, because of all the time you cut pizza.

I thought the candle boats and the glow balls looked cool but really its just novelty crap.
Sorry to say that but Ive been annoyed at this since i saw the title "30 things 'Geeks' should have"
Oh really, geeks should have a sloping surface near their sink so that water drains back into it...wow...never thought of that before...I wonder if anyone has told the people who make sinks. They might start incorporating it into their design. Whats that? they already do?! And now Im just beating a dead horse?!!! ok well fuck this thread. out.

  6. I wonder if any of this garbage doesn't say "Made with pride in China"

  7. The only thing I really like on here is the hairbrush idea.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Ever thought about how to put it back on the brush?

      Delete
    2. I have a slight improvement on the hairbrush idea. Instead of completely pulling that thing out, we can make it rise just up to the tips. The tips of each bristle can be made sliiightly thicker so it won't pop out completely. it should be easier to remove the hair now. Also how about making it smooth plastic instead of rubbery n sticky. Throw in a new feature where there is small button we can push that pops it up and restores when released. Now you have a really cool product ;-)

    3. You get it back on by....simply pressing it back on....????

      Delete
    4. Yea, I'm with you Chris. What exactly is so hard about putting it back on the brush?

      Delete
    5. Yea, I thought that for a minute, but I have pretty long hair and that thing would be a serious pain to pull off with the hair on top.

      Delete
    6. I have been using a comb to remove hair from hairbrush, works great.

  13. The lace anchors seem totally redundant to me...All of my life I've got this exact effect by simply tying a knot in the lace.

  14. Noooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! Anonymous know-it-all, cool-guy-who-thinks-everything-is-lame-and-everyone-on-the-planet-is-beneath him-becuase-he-has-a-different-opinion-about-things-guy #19,098,589,609,092,839,840,928,309,482,875,860 is out!!!

How will the site, and indeed, the rest of the internet ever survive without his unique and helpful insight!?!?!?!

  15. I am a minimalist, non-capitalist cynic. People avoid me at parties because I have a negative vibe and am the typical know-it-all. Every one of these products is lame and anyone that likes them is a fool........... Just funnin', I am typing away on my laptop thinking that most of those products are quite novel and functional; I would definitely purchase a few of 'em. Thank God for innovators, otherwise we would still be using corn cobs to wipe our asses.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Don't knock the Mighty Corncob. We'll need them again when all the trees are gone.
Maybe Mosanto can come up with an improved version.

  16. Actually # 4 is a great idea and I'm going to slip a thin earth magnet behind the switch plate by the door to get the exact same result.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Actually, for #4 I have a better idea, they sell this magnetic chalkboard spray on Home Depot, now if you're like me and the front door is a horrid, brown, wood door. Just paint that shit up and place the keys while your kids (in this case my brothers) draw unendingly on the door, eventually making it prettier.

  32. Yes. because communism is obviously the only other option. Jesus.

    ReplyDelete
  33. most of this is cool, but why would you need a no touch soap dispenser if you are literally about to wash your hands so it doesn't matter what you touch beforehand?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Holy crap, Eeyore's gone all Marx on us

    ReplyDelete
  35. aaww..
all the things are really cool /...
from where i can buy them .. ???

  36. It is refreshing to ingenuity at work. I never get tired of seeing new ideas! Those who would shun these people and their inventions are lacking . Those thinking it is a waste would be the equivalent of the stone age fools laughing at someone making fire. It has less to do with the final product and more to do with thinking of a better use of materials and time etc. Fortunately for the smart population on Earth, the tiny offshoot of the minimalism group that think inventions are a waste, are so few that they don't count for anything.

But I would like to be the VC of these!
