Last year, scientists uncovered a well preserved mammoth carcass that was frozen in Siberia's Malolyakhovskiy Island. They estimate it to be around 43,000 years old, and was around 60 when it died by getting stuck in the ice. This well preserved carcass still contained some haemolysed blood that contained erythrocytes, and some lymphoic tissue, which means they can produce results with cloning with new technology advancement. The researchers are not trying to play God by any means, and want to clone it with the right motives. Their motive is to essentially advance the scientific stand point to understand the beast, and not for shits and giggles.
