When you see an insect you are either the person who says neat, or jumps on top of the nearest surface in fear. If you like them or not you still might get a good scare from the insects listed below. The list consists of the largest creepy crawlers known to man.
1.) Titan Beetle - This massive insect is fount in the South American rain forest and is the second biggest beetle at 6.5 inches. They have sharp mandibles that can cut through your flesh, and end capable of snapping your number 2 pencil in half.
2.) Dung Beetle - As it sound from this bugs name, it place in feces, well better yet it eats it too. They can be found in every place on the earth besides Antarctica.
3.) Stag Beetle - This insect is normally about 1.5 inches long, but can reach up to 4.8 inches. The male of this species has long mandibles that they use to fight other males, not over females but food. You can't blame them food is delicious.
4.) Giant Water Bug - Another bug that can be seen across the world, and in your dreams (bwahahaha). The normally live in fresh water like streams and ponds. As seen in the picture the male carries eggs on his back. If you not scared of it you can have a bite of one of these creepy critters in Thailand because it is popular food over there.
5.) Female Queen Alexandra's Birdwings - The female of this butterfly specie is always bigger than the males of the same species. It has a large wingspan of 12.2 inches, and is the biggest butterfly in the whole world. Normally this butterfly can be found in the New Guinea rain forests.
6.) Atlas Moth - This moth's wings spans over 62 sq inches making it the largest moth in the whole world, and like the Alexandra the females are the larger ones. You can find this moth in the tropical forests of Asia, where they are bred for silk.
7.) Goliath Birdeater spider - Well this one is more of an arachnid as it is a member of the tarantula family, and comes in as the second biggest spider in the world. The Goliath Birdeater can be found in swampy areas native to South America. The name implies it eats birds, but the generally do not.
8.) Giant Walking Stick - You may have seen these guys walking around your back yard. They have the length of 15 inches and is the biggest stick bug in North America. Obviously its whole body structure is a great camouflage because it could definitely fool anyone.
9.) Giant Weta - The Weta is a native to New Zealand, and is one of the largest of its species. The Giant Weta is measured at 4 inches, not including its legs and antennae. The Giant Weta are not as social as the normal sized ones.
10.) Goliath Beetle - You can find the Goliath beetle in the tropical forests of Africa measured at 4 inches. Their main source of food is tree sap and fruits. You may recognize this bug as on of the Big Bad Beetleborgs, where the male has a Y-shaped horn that it uses to fight other males for food.
