This guy wasn’t exactly taking a selfie, but the
photographer at the Great Bull Run in Baytown, Texas captured a pretty neat pic
of the participant.
Christian (we don’t know his last name) was running with the
bulls and decided to film it all. The video was not very entertaining at all
being that it was a vertical video, and it captured only what appeared to be a
frantic kid running. Not until the end you don’t know that he is running away
from some bulls.
The photographer Derrek Barlow took the action shot of Christian
and it appears that he is taking a selfie. The picture was posted on Reddit
with a caption “Selfie level 11 achieved”. I do not know whether the trend
intends for the stupidest person to be on top, but whatever floats your boat.
This annual even in Baytown at the Royal Purple Raceway cost
$70 for two minutes to stand on the bull track and be chased after. This year
3,000 people partook in the event. Some people used Go Pros and others like
Christian used their cellphones, and the serious people ran without a recording
device. Then if you just want to see people get hurt you can just watch from
the sidelines.
Christians recording seemed to be all fun and games, but in
the end the Houston Chronicle reported that at least one person in the race was
injured. That is pretty good numbers for having 2,999 other people there and a
bunch of bulls.
At these types of events you either run and hide or try to
keep up with the bulls. In this case you take a selfie and try to live and be
crowned “king” of selfies, and hope you do not get hospitalized.
