As ridiculous as it may sound Google is trying to keep its new technology fresh with items like Google Glass that quickly jumped from development to a real life product. So what moon are they shooting for now? What kind of products will we see in the upcoming years?
Manufacturing Robots

Google really wants to build robots, in the last year they had 7 different robotics start ups. They placed Andy Rubin in charge of their robotics divisions. The plan as far as the public knows is that they want to get robots building electronics on an assembly line, like something we see out of a movie. Reports say that Google has taken up partner ship with Foxconn, the company that make iPhones and other Apple products.
Artificial Intelligence
To go along with Google's robotics theme they want to get these things to think on their own. Back in February they purchased a artificial intelligence start up called DeepMind, and that was just one of their recent acquisitions. Well hopefully this idea will not lead to some Terminator like disaster to take over the world.
Human Like Robots

Robots, robots, robots, I swear not all of their new technology is robots. All we know is that they purchased a start up called Schaft, that specializes in humanoid robotics.
Who knows what they will come up with since Schaft already has robots that can drive cars and climb ladders.
A Car That Drives Its Self
Well I see where all this robotics is going, they are planning to build us drivers that will drives us when we are not sober. All joking aside they have been trying to perfect this since 2010 with lots of miles and no accidents yet, the future for this is promising.
They plan on making a car that consumers can purchase, which is why they are taking their time to work out any and all bugs that may be there. Although we do not know what car company will help manufacture the car, but maybe Google will branch off into the automotive industry with the "Google Drive 1"?
The Smart Contact
The Smart Contact is intended for medical use. They want it to help monitor peoples vitals, specifically diabetes glucose levels that will be sent to a wireless monitor, possibly a smartphone or a stand alone device.
It is supposed to be an early alert for the user to help warn the user. Hopefully this will grow into replacing the dorky Google Glass because this would be way cooler.
Floating Retail
That is right a Google branded barge made an appearance last year in the Bay area. Documents showed that it was supposed to be used as a temporary technology exhibit space. The barge is built by a LLC firm, but the public still does not know what it intends to do with it besides a show off consumer products like Google Glass.
Wearable Gadgets
Of course we all know the new wearable gadget fad that is exploding on the scene. So of course they will be building some other flashy wearable device that isn't Google Glass. The open beta for the new technology will cost you $1,500.
Going Green
Google plans on investing a lot of money in renewable energy, and is drowning the idea in millions of dollars. They invested $75 million in a wind farm in Texas and several others to help power over 60,000 homes. Soon we may be having the option for Google to be our energy provider.
And to dispel a myth, Google is not building us an space elevator. Eric Teller told
