New Technology That Is No longer A Thing Of Science Fiction

Science and technology
Nope, that is not some weird Asian lady it is the Actroid-SIT. It is a human like robot from the Japanese company Kokoro, the android can make eye contact and make gestures to people making it capable of handling a crowd of people. The Nara Institute of science and Technology did studies to see how groups of people interacted with the android in order to develop new personable behaviors. As weird as it is we have seen similar robots in many movies, and now we can say that they are officially here.

Teleportation

Beam me up, Scotty. Well not so much yet, but the Furusawa group from the University of Tokyo has demonstrated quantum teleporation of photonic quantum bits. The technique shows us that efficiency of transport can be 100 times higher than it was before. Since there is no measurement after a transport it shows a major advancement in quantum information that will help further progress in the future.

Driverless Cars

Google is always trying to further new technology, and they have a project called The Google Driverless car. The project involves developing new technology for a autonomous car, calling it "Google Chauffeur". Sebastian Thrun, is the current lead engineer on the project and is the co-inventor of Google Street View. This is definitely not a cheap project as $150,000 in equipment has been dropped into one of Google's robotic cars. $70,000 of which is invested in a radar system called LIDAR, teamed up with a 64-beam laser range finder. All this new technology in the Google car helps it be able to drive itself to whatever location it is trying to find.

Nano drones

A military micro unmanned aerial vehicle called the Black Hornet Nano was developed by Prox Dynamics. The Black Hornet is used by the British Army, and the gadget is measured at 10 x 2.5 CM and helps to provide awareness for ground troops. The technology is small enough to fit into your hand and only weighs half an ounce. The Black Hornet has a camera to help give the operator a full motion video or still images.

Stem Cell Burger

The World's first test tube burger was grown on August 5, 2013, and cooked and eaten at a news seminar in London. Netherlands scientists that was led by Mark Post, took a cows stem cells and grew them into strips, which they combined to make a burger.

The HULC, Human Universal Load Carrier is a hydraulic powered anthropomorphic exoskeleton that is un-tethered. The HULC was developed by a Professor H Kazerooni and a team at Ekso Bionics, with the intention of helping soldiers in combat carry heavy loads. Although it has a military intent the new technology can have great impact at a commercial level, like in factories or clean up crews, maybe even construction.
